Whitsunday Sands Resort is uniquely located on its own private peninsula, by the turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef. It offers all guests private access to 2 separate, magnificent beaches. We accidently landed in this little paradise! Multiple gorgeous beaches surrounding. We made a last minute booking as we wanted to get closer to our departure airport (one hour South) and got lucky that someone had made a last minute cancelation! The view from our room was a dream. Obviously a popular family resort and very busy, but still nice and quiet at night for good sleep! Would have loved to spend a week or two!

The property is far enough from the big cities that you get some excellent stargazing. We also enjoyed the firepit on site. We enjoyed a visit from a small pack of curious kangaroos, one of them being ~20 feet from our yurt. The yurt is very well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the bean bags were a fun addition. There was also a lovely breakfast for us. Everything we needed was considered and provided by the hosts. We really enjoyed this glamping experience!

Went the extra mile for Easter with easter eggs and hot cross buns. Loved how quirky the accom was and also that the staff had turned the air conditioning on so the room was nice and refreshing. Awesome that complimentary bug spray and an umbrella was provided too

We wanted to be relaxed and lazy and we were. Beautiful little township. Well priced we thought. Very secure. The villas are amazing.

This place is special, with the rain forest literally outside your door. Very romantic and idyllic setting. Thoughtful extras, including extra towels, sunscreen and bug spray. Great outdoor kitchen set up, with seating area. I wish we could have stayed longer.
