The town is actually a bit drab; the Marlborough area is all about the wine (sauvignon blanc) and tasting visits (recommended). Rather than an apartment, we stayed at the Hotel D’Urville in the town centre which was OK; compact room, not modern, a little tired. Maybe would have been better to find accommodation on a vineyard but not many have restaurants on site which, given the more remote locations, is preferable. Service at the hotel was friendly and helpful. VFM at $245 a bit steep. Rating 7/10.
Blenheim
Everything was wonderful- the setting amid vineyards and lovely gardens, the peaceful location, our cute cottage, lawn tennis, pool and hot tub, and close to many of Marlborough’s fine vineyards. Breakfast was simple but delicious and with fresh citrus from their own trees and eggs from the chickens. Natasha and Jonathan were friendly and helpful. It was so wonderful we extended our stay. Best accommodations we’ve had in our 6 weeks of travel in New Zealand. Thank you Natasha and Jonathan!
Blenheim
This model was overally very good. I have visited Blenheim so many times and stayed many difference places. But I would say people in this motel were the best. This motel is facing chateau Marlborough and Scenic hotel each other. Even this is a motel, I would say there are not much difference between hotel and this motel. Room was very clean. And location is also very nice.
Picton
Easy access. Secure garage- perfect for leaving our precious bikes on a bike rack and knowing they were out of sight from scallywags with nefarious intent! The apartment was beautiful and well equipped. The location is superb with a wonderful view over the marina and into the Sounds. Would be a great place to chill out over summer with a bottle or two of Marlborough wine.
Blenheim
spacious apartment with an amazing view from the bed. we set our alarms early to watch the sunrise and it was stunning. very comfortable bed and all facilities as described. continental style breakfast was enjoyed on the private terrace each morning. access to the beach from the garden and east access to Picton and the Marlborough Sounds thanks for a relaxing stay
The hotel is immaculately presented and beautifully designed. Centrally located and walking distance to all the main spots. The owners and staff of the hotel were lovely and welcoming and really take pride in ensuring guests have a wonderful stay. We will definitely be back for our next trip to Marlborough region.
Picton
We really enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable, quiet apartment right in the centre of town, close to bars, cafes and restaurants. Also just a short walk to the wharf from where cruises and water taxis to Marlborough Sound leave and also close to the Inter-Islander ferry terminal.
Blenheim
Centrally located and well equipped apartment, convenient for visits to the Marlborough wineries and less than 30 minutes drive to the Picton- Wellington ferry. Very friendly manager who provided excellent support . Would definitely stay their again
Chateau Marlborough has all the facilities of a well appointed hotel. Very comfortable and quiet rooms, great restaurant and bar and a handy location to the airport.
Renwick
Well designed apartment, perfectly equipped. Great location within the Marlborough wine region, with the host providing bicycles to explore the cycle trail with.
Lovely hotel in a great location for exploring Blenheim and the Marlborough region.
Very equipped rooms, and clean
The resort Bay of Many Coves lies hidden away in a bay by the same name in the Queen Charlotte Sound part of the spectacular Marlborough Sounds. It is a jewel, truly a luxury resort very well worth the price. Amazing attention to detail showed up in all areas, from the comfort of the apartment to the nightly turn-down service to the availability of little snacks all day long and much more. The staff was friendly and sociable and very capable of sensing when some assistance would be helpful. I especially appreciated the gentle attention I received during mealtimes - which is important to a solo traveler. Which brings me to the meals! Breakfast was delicious and offered many choices while the evening meals were just superb. I had signed up for the 5 course package and was impressed with every dish: flavor, variety, presentation, use of local products when possible ... Michelin worthy! Bay of Many Coves also has some wonderful trails to explore. The view from their Lookout Point is well worth the steep climb (the resort provides hiking poles: take them along). I also checked out a kayak one day and enjoyed exploring the bay and checking out the Pied Shags (karuhiruhi - cormorants) in their nests, feeding their almost grown chicks. I had an unforgettable 3 days stay!
I really liked the location of this motel and loved the balcony overlooking the harbour!
Nick and Haily were EXCEPTIONAL!
The location was perfect, right in the centre of town. My room was scrupulously clean an roomy. There was everything I would need, kitchen appliances, heater, fan, extra blankets. The bathroom was clean, in fact couldn't fault it.
pool and playground, laundry, car wash, room, everything. couldn’t ask for better.
We loved everything about our stay at Lochmara Lodge. We stayed for two nights with our family and It was a little bit of a splurge, but did not disappoint! The location was stunning, the fact that you got there by water taxi made it remote and uncrowded, and there were plenty of things to do (hike, paddleboard, kayak). Also, the food was delicious and the staff was accommodating and helpful.
Staff were super friendly and helpful. Great laundry and cooking facilities, including a lounge area. Bathrooms were extremely clean and the entire property was well maintained. Loved the location close to the waterfront and Shell beach.
Very clean. Amazing front "yard" next to the creek with the sheep across. Really sweet. Nice little porch. REALLY like the separate bedroom from the kitchen and living.
