The host Michi was extremely friendly, funny and flexible (and very accommodating)! Exploring Kawaguchiko and getting to its attractions (onsens, hikes, caves, etc.) without a car and only using public buses is not so easy, but Michi gave lots of good suggestions on how one could do so. The common area and the garden was very beautiful (see the photo attached!)

One of my favourite stays during a month in Japan. Definitely more of a boutique guest house than a hostel. Beautiful design and very comfortable rooms. Lovely communal space with nice teas available and the sister cafe (where you have the breakfast) was a highlight of my entire trip ( I went 3 times in less than 24 hourse). Location was amazing and I LOVED Fujiyoshida as a little town. Would absolutely return and recommend to anyone looking to stay near Fuji. Easy walk to Churieto Pagoda, recommend going for sunrise.

A mere 10-minute drive from the Fujikyu Highland amusement park, Fujiyoshida Youth Hostel offers private Japanese-style rooms, free Wi-Fi at the lobby. Coin-operated laundry facilities are on-site. The property is an 8-minute walk from Shimoyoshida Station on the Fujikyuko Line. The staff was very friendly, even though we arrived late at 10:30. It is not normal to arrive that late, as there is no more public transportation that late, but it was not a problem. The woman was very kind and explained everything.

Dot Hostel&Bar 富士山 is 3.3 km from Kawaguchi Asama Shrine and 4.3 km from Kawaguchiko Bridge. We stayed in a beautiful twin room which was roomy enough for luggage, a small table and chairs. It included a full bathroom with a tub shower. The lounge area was comfortable and pleasant to hang out in. The kitchen facilities were comfortable enough so that someone could make simple meals for themselves. We traveled to the area by bus, and the bus stop was adjacent to the hostel. Just be careful watching the bus schedule, early and late times are not available. The location was terrific. We had great views of Fujisan, an enjoyable garden area along the lake, and miles of walking or biking path.

It's so close to the station and the view of Mt Fuji was amazing. The rooms are small but very comfy and clean. It's near a 711 and a Lawson and has lots of Bike rentals nearby. They let you deposit your luggage for the day so you can sightsee without having to pay for coin lockers. Overall such good value.
