We went to historic attractions ( Susan B Antony Home) as well as the museum of science and several local restaurants. We were there for a few days preceding the eclipse in April. There is a lot to do in Rochester and you can get there by car or Amtrak.

Rochester offers some great restaurants and sights to see...
Rochester offers some great restaurants and sights to see even when you are just passing through the area. The Owl House was a favorite spot as was Strangebird. We also walked around the Strong Museum and the Museum of Play.

The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and Internet was easy to access. Breakfast was good, quick, and not over crowded. AND I left my wireless computer mouse on the desk in the room when we checked out. When I called the hotel a few hours later, they held it for me so I could pick it up on my way back a week later. A small thing? Buying & programming a wireless mouse to sync with my computer & keyboard would have been a real hassle !
