We booked a last minute overnight stay in Argostoli after travelling around the island from our base in Skala. The room was huge, spotless and very comfy. A massive shower with good water pressure and tea/coffee making facilities were an added bonus, recommend!
The seaside Tourist Hotel offers air-conditioned and soundproofed rooms. Most units boast views of the sea and Argostoli pebble beach, where Caretta Caretta sea turtles return yearly to nest.

Location was very good, rooms are super clean and cleaned every day. You have to walk a small hill if you're coming from the marina but its not bad. The staff tho were not friendly at all, didn't help with anything and didn't even smile. You can probably find a better deal down at the marina.

Argostoli is the most relaxing town , lovely harbour , great restaurants and bars . We love to walk and walked to the beach daily in lassi two beach bars beautiful soft sand and clear aqua blue water . Spectacular views . Great shops and overall one of the best Greek islands to visit . If you hire a car Assos and Fiskado are a must to visit , well worth the drive
You will not be disappointed with a visit to Argostoli and look out for the turtles as you walk along the front near the restaurants

There are several pleasant walks from the town.
There are several pleasant walks from the town. Head out to the Venetian lighthouse and beyond and find the moving memorial to the Italian soldiers killed on the island. On the promenade spot the loggerhead turtles eating the fishermen's cast off fish. Pleasant main square and shopping street, and loads of cafes and restaurants. Buzzy place and friendly.

Argostoli is an attractive port town with a picturesque bridge and some excellent restaurants - our favourites were Momento for seafood and the Captain's Table for lamb kleftado. The huge turtles where the fish boats dock were an added attraction. The town is a great base for touring Kefalonia! Staying at Twelve Suites was perfect, with the wonderful Athina to consult for local recommendations.

We were looking for a quiet place to stay, after some busy travel time. This place was great. I imagine it is more active in the summer months, but we were looking for peace and quiet. Lots of restaurants nearby, though we chose to cook quite a bit because we've been on the road for a while. There were a couple of things we would have like to see (Archeological Museum and Botanical Gardens) but they weren't open yet. That's okay. We come to Greece in the off-season and know what to expect.

It was our first time to Kefalonia, so weren't quite sure what to expect.
We wanted to stay somewhere busy and real, rather than a purpose built resort, so we chose Argostoli. Our first impression was that it did seem quite rundown, especially along the front, but we very quickly changed our views and saw the place for what it is - a busy, working town which was what we wanted. The first night we walked a short distance from our accommodation and soon came across the main square and the numerous streets leading from this which were filled with bars, restaurants, shops, entertainment and that was it for us - we were hooked!! Argostoli is an amazing place, there's lots to see and do, you can visit all the different resorts and great beaches really easily by bus or taxi (if you don't want to hire a car or bike), it has great nightlife, lots of shops, and lovely restaurants serving all types of food. There's plenty of fast food & takeaways if you just want to grab something quick to eat and there's loads of coffee shops. We didn't get chance to do a boat trip or see many of the sights as we were only there for 4 nights, but this is something we definitely want to do on our next visit to the island. Give the place a try and I hope you love it as much as we did!!
great location, the beach immediately infront (fanari beach) is far nicer than it looks on google. the two tavernas nearby were both good, our personal favourite was fanari restaurant - very friendly and cheap. the place was cleaned daily. we had a fridge and sea veiw. was great and pretty quiet. the walls are quite thin though so i guess it depends on who else is staying. the walk into argostoli could be shorter (20-30mins) but is all flat. towels were provided. kefalonia itself is so worth visiting. very beautiful. the room was big.
The King A is situated on the harbour and has lovely views of the sea and the hillside across from Argostoli.
The room was ideal for myself and my daughter - comfortable beds and powerful shower.
Breakfast was a feast! Greek yogurt, granola, fruit, pastries and bread with the option of a fluffy omelette as well!
The staff here are also excellent - didn’t get everyone’s names but everyone was very accommodating (like all of Kefalonia!) - special mention to the lovely Christos that served us at breakfast!
- The amazing view over Argostoli from the balcony
- perfect position (4 minutes from argostoli and Lassi, where we found the best taverns)
- the host is super kind, always available to help you get the best from the island and for all your needs
- apartment is super clean and you’ll find everything inside (first aid, medicines, even the sun umbrella to be brought at the beach)
- private parking
- powerful air conditioning
The Kefalonia grand is a wonderful hotel, the staff are friendly and very welcoming. rooms are immaculately clean and spacious. if you opt for a sea view room with a balcony it is amazing.
the location is perfect at the centre of the waterfront but this doesn’t make it overly noisy.
breakfast is buffet and also cooked to order.
I cannot recommend the hotel enough as it was a perfect start to our visit to Kefalonia.
Breakfast was excellent a wide selection of foods to choose from, buffet style where you can eat as much as you like, lots of health options to choose from. Location right on the water front, road can be noisy at times however this is not the hotels fault. Lots going on, plenty of places to eat in walking distance. Closest beach is in walking distance if you fancy a good walk.
The tiny beach is right across the hotel and there was nobody there. It's approximately 30 min walking from which I didn't mind, I went for a run or walked.
It's good value for the price, with breakfast included, the young receptionist was nice, the room even has a TV (didn't watch) and my room was big with a terrasse. There's a pool as well (didn't use it).
Angeliki was the best host that we have ever had.
She is so kind and helped us with everything that we need. And the place is amazing. For me this is place with 5 stars. If we ever return to Kefalonia definitely we will stay in this apartment.
So… Angeliki, place, how everything was clean, beautiful… Definitely 10/10 😁
King A makes a great base for exploring Kefalonia, whether by car, boat or coach. It is walking distance to many good restaurants and cafes, the port, the ferry to Lixouri, and the bus station, and a short taxi ride to many nice beaches. The owners and the staff were extremely attentive throughout our stay.
Good variety of breakfast options: pastries, fruits, vegetables, eggs. bread etc.
Location is good if you need a parking, there was always a free spot nearby. If you don't need a parking then the hotel is too far from the city centre.
Friendly staff, eager to advise and recommend places.
This hotel was absolutely incredible. The breakfast was superb, location was perfect and the staff could not have been more helpful. We spent three weeks travelling around Greece and Kefalonia was our favourite place to visit- massively due to this hotel!
Lovely apartment containing everything you need for a stay in Kefalonia, ample street parking, nice local places to eat and drink. Our host kindly met us shortly after arrival to show us some of her best beach and restaurant suggestions.
The hotel was fantastic. We enjoyed the aesthetic of the lobby, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the attentiveness of the staff. The food was excellent, as were the cocktails, and the complimentary breakfast was a highlight.
Excellent location for the centre of Argostoli. Lovely apartment, well equipped, gorgeous views from both balconies. Flexible and friendly host. We will definitely look to book again when we return to Kefalonia.
The family who run this hotel were extremely friendly and brought a lovely atmosphere to our stay. The restaurant has the best food I have ever eaten.
You are really close to the town centre and can walk.
This is what you call a value for money. Honestly the most guest friendly hotel I've ever been in! Has literally everything! Super tide and clean! The location!!! Thank you Vanessa and Mother!
