This represents very good value. I did look at the reviews and it wasn't that good, but the majority of the reviews lately are very good.
Remember, this is a basic, older independently, family run hotel. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful.
I can see the rooms look like they have been recently renovated. The bed was excellent (really needs a mattress protector, that wasn't on). I can see by the condition of the rooms aspects of major chain hotels are used. There is not just a headboard, but the feature with sidedraws & lights with a power plug next to it - looks great. They have a fridge (some much more Hilton and Accor chains don't). The rooms are really well lit with lots of down lights (I've been in many £250 night rooms that are just dark). There is excellent ventilation (opening windows), yes, road noise, but close the windows at night.
Carpeting is all good, chairs NOT stained.
Bathroom was clean, the lights directly above the mirror didn't work, no biggie there.
No 50" TV, but a smaller TV. Was approiate for the nightly rate.
There was a continental breakfast, loads and loads of options and was included in the rate.
I have no idea of the occupancy rate, but it must be high as what I observed, just about everything was on point.
A 4* hotel was maybe another £80 a night. I'd choose this one every day.

Turners Hill sits in a good place with restaurants all around. Gets a lot of cyclists in summer, which some find a pain.
Not far from glorious countryside, and the town of East Grinstead, which is well worth a visit. It has steam trains as well as an old church. Numerous other attractions too.

We were visiting Standen House - a National Trust property just a few miles away. It’s an Arts and Crafts house by architect Philip Webb and famous designer William Morris. This is well worth the trip..
Can’t say much about Turners Hill - but it looked quite lovely
Dinner in Reflections was first class. Smoothies in the bar were excellent. Breakfast was also good. The Goodwood suite was comfortable, spotless and in very good condition. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We were also shown a sample suite in the newest block next to the car park - very spacious and well equipped though it is necessary of course to walk across to the main hotel to get to the bar and restaurant.

We first attended for a wedding back in the summer and unfortunately had to stay elsewhere due to it being fully booked. So when we had the opportunity we booked. its a lovely hotel, in stunning surroundings with service worthy of its 5 red stars. Wouldn't hesitate to return when we have the opportunity.
The staff are really friendly and welcoming in a nice relaxing atmosphere. The tablet was fast and great for room service and the breakfast is lovely. You can smell the spa area when you enter the hotel and smells luxurious and inviting! Would love to use the swimming pool next time :)
Beautiful beautiful hotel. Spa was amazing and the surrounding area was absolutely stunning! Staff were lovely & friendly! Bar staff were on point and it was a beautiful Venue for my closests friends wedding. Free parking and the sun was shining so it made it all the more beautiful!
We received a free upgrade from a UK double bed to a UK king size bed. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and the grounds of the hotel are amazing. We even saw a herd of deers passing by. The spa is very nice.
