A hotel catering to coach parties in a beautiful location.
Room was lovely and quiet but very tatty ,I didn't have a problem with that as it seemed the hotel is being refurbished and I was in a room they had not yet done up.

Hotel is very well located and welcoming. The accommodation is perfect for the price. I particularly appreciated the Nespresso machine in the bedroom.
Dinner was excellent and the service staff did a sterling job and were a credit to their profession. The same should be said for the breakfast staff. Nothing was too much trouble.

The reservation system was difficult and it was very difficult to get the hotel itself to communicate and understand. I had to enlist the corporate office in order to work it out. The front desk clerk at check in is rude. The young girl bartender is untrained. The food staff is unprofessional and disengaged. The evening bar music penetrates the room - making it difficult to sleep. Not all amenities were in the room and had to be asked for. The coffee maker didn't work.
The building is beautiful, but without friendly staff it has lost all ambiance. Clearly, there is no corporate attempt to train staff to cater to the traveling public.

The room assigned to us was on the top floor.
The room assigned to us was on the top floor. The lift was not working but we were not advised about this before arrival. The receptionist at check in response was that it was booking.com that should have advised us, yet it was not, or at least not obvious on the hotel website

Dirty room, ignorant, rude unhelpful and miserable staff, disgusting to have to pay for guest parking (would expect in the city but not at that location,) Housekeeping never cleaned room or stocked the room. had to collect towels and toilet paper from reception, they would not take a standard/repeat meal time booking, had to book daily for 08:00 breakfast and 19:00 Dinner at reception. i could go on ... just don't stay at the Tarbet

Nice big room, bathroom good, meals excellent, staff very friendly and helpful.
Good tea and coffee facilities in room.
On a main junction, so a small amount if road noise and sometimes very busy.
Bed quite comfortabke with extra pillows and blanket in room. Heating very good hot water took a long tome to come through.
Excellent centre for travelling around by car bus or train, right next to loch , amazing views.

Rude bar staff, no room service, awful smell in all the public areas. It was like step back in time decades when customer service didn’t exist. It reminded me of a cross between Fawlty Towers and The Overlook in The Shining! If you like being made to wait ages at the bar to be served by a grumpy guy with an attitude problem, then this is the place for you!! Also other rude members of staff at the bar who seem to be protégées of said surly barman. I was told I couldn’t set up a tab on my room, I had to pay NOW! I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in my time and I’ve never been spoken to like that before. As a sole woman traveller I don’t expect to be spoken to like that. I would never stay there again, a terrible disappointment.

The location was wonderful, but once you got past the reception and bar the hotel was tired and dirty. My shower wouldn't drain properly as the drainage hole was jammed full of hair. It took 3 complaints to get it cleaned, which is 2 more than it should have taken. If I didn't have health issues I'd have demanded my money back and left after the first night, but I couldn't take the risk of having nowhere to sleep. Only good thing was Kyle and the young lady in the restaurant were very helpful. This was the first stopover on my road trip round d Scotland and everywhere else I stayed has confirmed just how bad this place was.
Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.
Location was great. Initially, we booked a cozy double room which was ok but the bed was too small for 2 people used to a king bed. Were a bit confused as my parents had a twin room which was less expensive but much bigger than ours. As we were there for 2 nights we spoke to reception and were able to move to a room with a bigger bed, staff were very helpful in accommodating this especially as the hotel was almost fully booked.
Staff were great, and the hotel was spacious and well organised. Our room was very comfortable, bathroom a little pinched, bedding and towels of good quality. Food , evening meal and breakfast was good - the cooked breakfast a little too pre-prepared, so scrambled egg ( the only egg choice) was less appetising than it should have been. No decaf coffee available. But overall pretty good, nicely served and good value/
room - the place has amazing location and the building is beautiful from outside.
Hotel is little run down but the staff worked there butts off. place needs some tlc badly but the energy of the staff and the location made this a lovely stay. Just be aware that the interior and quality has seen better days but the price reflects the hotels awareness of this
Really nice amazing big hotel, exterior looks incredible and inside is superb, we got there just in time for live music and it was only a Wednesday night, spent the night having a few drinks listening to some good live music then went up to the room which had a loch view looking onto Loch Lomond for the morning! Would definitely stay again!
The rustic antique factor of the hotel is great, Old worldly Scottish feel with nice bar and comfortable room - We have a year old Rottweiler and the hotel staff and most of the other guests loved him, the dog friendly aspect hotel made our stay in Loch Lomond do-able. We must apologise for the barking at 4am on occasions
Used as stopover from Fort William to Edinburgh. Half board. DBB.
STAFF EXCELLENT. Friendly professional.
Land in front of hotel borders Loch Lomond. Great relax sit and walk. Early check out helped the press on to Edinburgh. Our stay coincided with 4 coach loads coming and going hence check out by 10.
Friendly staff, the rooms were a good size for a twin, beds were comfortable and I slept well. The hotel facilities were fine and the staff were very helpful and easy to contact, we had some road closures that delayed our arrival, but the staff were super accommodating which was very reassuring.
Lovely cottage, well kitted out. Loved the location, in the middle between arrochar and tarbet and right next to the train station. Within walking distance for all your hill walks. Would come back again.
The facade was beautiful, the entrance also.
They had painters freshening the hotel up also, we couldn’t find our room and he was most helpful.
The was cozy, (in the description) bed was comfy.
Bed was comfortable, breakfast was good and the location, right opposite where Loch Lomond tour boasts leave, was superb! The front of the building and reception area were very grand
The Tarbet was a good location to stay between Edinburgh and Skye. Yes, its older but it is cozy and quaint. We enjoyed the food and cocktails. The service was very good.
