It’s connected to North Terminal and as we had a really early flight it worked out perfectly.

The staff were very kind, attentive and friendly and looked after us well after our long flight. The bed was comfortable with clean linen.
The hotel was very close to Gatwick North and we used the public bus as it was only £2 pp with a close bus stop (9a) and frequent 24 hour service.

This represents very good value. I did look at the reviews and it wasn't that good, but the majority of the reviews lately are very good.
Remember, this is a basic, older independently, family run hotel. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful.
I can see the rooms look like they have been recently renovated. The bed was excellent (really needs a mattress protector, that wasn't on). I can see by the condition of the rooms aspects of major chain hotels are used. There is not just a headboard, but the feature with sidedraws & lights with a power plug next to it - looks great. They have a fridge (some much more Hilton and Accor chains don't). The rooms are really well lit with lots of down lights (I've been in many £250 night rooms that are just dark). There is excellent ventilation (opening windows), yes, road noise, but close the windows at night.
Carpeting is all good, chairs NOT stained.
Bathroom was clean, the lights directly above the mirror didn't work, no biggie there.
No 50" TV, but a smaller TV. Was approiate for the nightly rate.
There was a continental breakfast, loads and loads of options and was included in the rate.
I have no idea of the occupancy rate, but it must be high as what I observed, just about everything was on point.
A 4* hotel was maybe another £80 a night. I'd choose this one every day.
Featuring a garden, Gatwick Inn Hotel - For A Peaceful Overnight Stay is set in Horley in the Surrey region, 19 km from Box Hill and 23 km from Nonsuch Park.
The narrow lane access was full of deep potholes. There were no signs stating that there was convenient access to rooms from the car park level with suggestions possibly to register first up the flight of stairs (internally there are three flights of steep stairs down to the rooms. Signage would have been helpful).
There is nothing near the hotel but water and woods so a car trip down the narrow lane is necessary even for a newspaper.
The boutique hotel room was modern and clean with a comfortable bed. Unfortunately there were essential items missing, such as no waste bin in the bedroom, no shelf for toiletries/toothbrush in the bathroom and no grab rail for elderly occupants; in fact the situation was not good for anyone with vertigo or mobility issues.
We received family guests for dinner, one meal was unfortunately overcooked so much so that the basic fish and chips meal was refunded. This reflected badly on us as hosts and will not recommend it to others for such a visit.
Our Gatwick flight had been cancelled and the Wire Mill was reasonably close (20 minutes drive) from the airport, handy for an early morning next-day flight and it had last minute availability. We were greeted by friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is in a lovely position right by a large lake. We had a decent dinner in the restaurant. The room was comfortable and clean. We were up again at 4am, too early for breakfast.
Breakfast was provided in-room as porridge and cereal bars, which was fine. Lots of tea/coffee/milk in the room too. The room was a good size, and the bed was comfy.
The Woodcock Inn is now a Nepalese restaurant. I had a Katmandu chicken curry which was very good. The hotel reception is round the back, and there is lots of parking. Very convenient for Gatwick airport.
Very disappointed room very cold no heating and also very smelly like from the toilet no window to look out .
Requested some heating none available
Heating not working
Would not recommend this to anyone
Couldn’t stay too cold very let down
The advertisement is not correct
It’s not a boutique hotel
Very very bad experience
The Woodcock is located close to Cophall airport parking where we needed to park our car at 3-30 am on the Wednesday to leave for an EasyJet flight at 6-20am to Germany.
Rather than travel to Gatwick / Cophall airport long term parking, on the day of departure we opted to stay overnight, and have a more relaxed start to our holiday.
We loved the view over the lake from the bar area. Evening or breakfast, rain or shine - just stunning to sit and look at! Staff were friendly and attentive, especially the younger members. Bed was super comfortable, the most comfortable we've had in a hotel, ever! Fantastic Matcha waffle for breakfast - once I discovered it!
this hotel was near to the location I have been so for that was perfect and it is 15 minutes from airport
I can’t say if it was good or bad but this structure was “self service” meaning there was nobody at the reception except when I arrived that I called before and they were waiting for me. The guy was helpful and nice.
Emergency stop over here due to cancellation of flight at Gatwick. Staff could not have been more helpful especially as I was calling them at nearly midnight. They even helped us get from the airport to the hotel with a local taxi company.
very friendly welcome when arriving, Indian restaurant downstairs was fab and really tasty! good size room, snacks and coffees in room. we needed a quick room before a gatwick flight and we were more than happy! very good value for money!
Perfect for a night close to Gatwick. Simple rooms, nice touch of the porridge pots and cereal bars. They were very accommodating with the dinner, delicious Nepali food. Lovely owners and friendly staff.
Excellent food at this restaurant. We overnighted for our flight from Gatwick and it was ideal.Rooms a bit dated and small but not too bad .Would definitely use this amazing restaurant again .
The staff were all exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Very attentive and the location of the hotel was beautiful too! The food was also delicious. Would definitely recommend!!
