I used to live here so only visiting family, unless you are here for the railway heritage there is not a lot to see in the town, but it is like most towns that we visit empty shops a sense of depreciation everywhere.

Darlington is a vibrant northern town with a big future.
Darlington is a vibrant northern town with a big future. You only have to look at the developments at the train station, and the fact part of the treasury is relocating there. A bigger brighter future for darlo awaits.

It was beautiful with lots of interesting history & it's got beautiful grounds which would be beautiful in the summer so can't wait to plan another trip to The George in the summer time. The room was very clean & had everything we needed. The only negative I have is we had to ask about information about meals etc but the staff were more than helpful

Quiet town with plenty of shopping and restaurants.
Quiet town with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Local recreation and sightseeing, major train depot. I had good weather while I was there, nearly everything you need is within walking distance of most hotels.

The staff at 119 are just lovely, so friendly and helpful.
The staff at 119 are just lovely, so friendly and helpful. The boss is prepared to do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible, he really is a top man! The facilities are faultless, everywhere is clean and tidy. The kitchen has tea and coffee facilities, and can be used whenever needed, (obviously taking other guests into consideration)
My partner and I have stayed here twice now and would not stay anywhere else, we have found somewhere that's comfortable friendly professional and above all else brilliant value for money.
We are back in January!
The Blackwell Grange is quite elegant in the public sections, like the lobbies, the bars and the dining room. The rooms are a nice and tasteful, but not what I'd call elegant. Dining there was very good, with a great food selection, well prepared and served by an excellent wait staff. The setting is lovely, a short distance from Darlington, so it was quiet and peaceful, ideal for getting some rest. Parking was ample and secure as well. The gazebo outside was lovely for some photos. We spent two nights there and really enjoyed the place.
I've stayed here several times it worked out cheaper than the nearest Premier Inn so it was no contest Its a lovely hotel just outside of Darlington. Staff at check in check out very friendly and helpful The standard rooms have everything you need and the whole place is clean and tidy. You can upgrade to go into the old Castle rooms which are bigger than the wing. The parking is free and there is plenty of it. Breakfast is cooked as you like it and there is a good selection of Continental choices too.
It's cheap and cheerful. Stayed here numerous times over 7 years and naturally looking a bit 'tired' (aren't we all‽) but basically a nice hotel in a super location. Spacious free car park. Good bus service into the town centre. Tea and coffee making facilities in room and kitchenette available if you bring your own food, although a very decent chain pub/ restaurant literally next door.
As a budget hotel, I would recommend.
It was an emergency booking to visit a relative at Darlington Memorial Hospital. Having the keycode and being able to get into the property when it suited me (11pm) was a great bonus - it saved me the worry of having to rush to meet hosts and collect keys.
The photo detailing entrance to parking space was a life saver as I was able to find it very quickly and have my car parked at property without aditional costs.
I really did like everything. Location was good. There are a lot of bus stops near the hotel. Town centre is only about 15 minutes walk . There are a lot of shops and pubs not far from the hotel. The stuff was very kind to me as well. Basically nice comfy and very cheap room. I will definitely stay here again next time.
Best hotel in Darlington, the cleaner was so friendly and lovely and the lady you checked us in made sure we were accommodated to at breakfast as we are vegan. Everyone had a positive attitude and this really makes a difference. Beautiful rooms - clean and so central!
I travelled to Darlington to meet a friend who was unwell. He had arranged dinner at a local public house so I did not make use of any of the hotel’s facilities. I found the staff extremely helpful and the room, considering the cost, was extremely good value.
Great value for money for a quick overnight stay in Darlington. Room was spotless and the bed was very comfy. Check-in and out were very easy and there were plenty of options for food/drink close by, and both buses and trains within easy walking distance.
Food was very plentiful and an excellent choice range. Breakfast was particularly brilliant. Room was nicely decorated and very clean.Very easy to find in a quiet location, with quick access to Darlington & the motorway.
I chose this Hotel for a one night stay as it was near the Darlington Railway Station. In fact it was only a few hundred yards away. It was perfect for my travel plans.
Space and facilities compared booking a hotel like Premier Inn. Comfortable beds and a very good over bath shower.
like the facility to park car securely.
