Easy walking distance to Ayr. Parking OK. Booked a ‘small double’ which was more than adequate and very comfy. Host was really pleasant.

The convenient location was perfect for me, only needed a room and a shower for 2 nights and this was spot on. Cost little room with a double bed, very comfortable and the hosts were very friendly.

Lovely B&B on a quiet street but close to the centre and the beach. Had a warm welcome and the owner was very helpful in recommending local places to eat, that all turned out to be excellent!
Room was comfortable with some nice touches (home-made shortbread).

The town is not what it once was, but as someone born and bred in Ayr I have nothing to dislike about it. Loads of good places to stay and to eat for all tastes and expenses. Very easy to navigate around the town by car, lots of buses at regular intervals. 3 great golf courses if that's your thing, loads of nice walks along the river, beach and if you find it Craigie Park (great for picnics).

Although there is a selection of the bars, restaurants and shops, the town centre is sadly lacking. Many, many empty shops. Full of charity shops, nail bars and vape shops. Ayr used to be one of my favourite places. Sadly, unfortunately those days are long gone.

Not an awful lot to do especially for young people but Culzean Castle and Dumfries House worth a visit. We also enjoyed the Burns museum. Glasgow easy drive away. Ayr and other beaches would be great in warmer months . Best dinner was at Kirkton Inn, Dalrymple and best lunch at The Coo Shed
Pleasant stay, very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a spacious lounge and a small bar. Breakfast was consistently good, prepared as per my request. No evening meals but the location is great for visiting bars and restaurants in Ayr. Many places with good reviews a short walk (5-10 minutes) away. I visited two during my stay and was not disappointed with either of them. There is plenty of street parking in front of the hotel, I never had any problem getting parked.
Arrived exhausted as my husband is recovering from stroke and no one there to meet us or answer the door. On calling the two numbers the mobile got through to the woman who owned it she was in hospital and the other number was her husband who was in A berdeen and not expecting us . Proceeded to inform us they had a funeral and all the rooms were being used for family. So had to trek back to Ayr in scorching heat and search for a hotel to put us up . Not a good start for two pensioners and their grandson.
Obviously a prime spot for Ayr Races! We stayed in the courtyard rooms separate from the main hotel building…. Main hotel is very nice, courtyard rooms are also nice but distinctly different from the main hotel… gardens around are lovely and well maintained. All staff were very friendly and attentive, breakfast was excellent. A very comfortable stay and would recommend this hotel for sure.
Hotel was older (as in vintage) but clean and the proprietor was incredibly nice and accommodating (no pun intended).
We had a diverted flight from Ireland to Scotland and had booked a room at 2am so very inconvenient to the hotel, but not only did they get us booked in quickly, scrounged for fruit first is you ready since we were starving...
Much appreciated! 👍👍👍👍
Excellent visit to the Horizon. Great location, great huge bed. Excellent breakfast, lovely staff, very helpful and pleasant. Nice to see a hotel that is so dog friendly. And we had lovely weather. 10/10 visit to Ayr. Thank you all at the Horizon. Excellent value for money. Loved the haddock and poached egg for breakfast, cooked to perfection. 👍
For a "budget" hotel, this was exceptional. Very clean and had all the facilities we required for a short break. The staff are very friendly. The welcome was warm both from them and the many locals who use the smashing wee bar. That real cask ales were on sale from the on-site Ayr Brewing Company was an added bonus for us.
This is a 3 star hotel in the centre of Ayr with 4+star staff. Being disabled and elderly, the receptionist was happy to change my booking to a wet room as the hotel only have showers over the bath. At breakfast, again the staff were very obliging and offered to give us table service which we gladly accepted.
This B&B was the nicest room we’ve had in our 15 days in Scotland. The hosts are lovely people and the townhouse is amazing. They served an excellent breakfast with many great choices. The room was very elegantly attired and very large and comfortable.
Excellent location in Ayr, close to beach and city centre. Good base for exploring the local attractions. Modern bathroom with rainfall shower. Large TV, loads of usb charging points. Attached fitness centre with small gym and pool. Good breakfast.

Room was so spotless quality soft furnishings and a super comfy bed, great breakfast and the hosting was brilliant. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay in Ayr. Also great location 2 ticks from the beach.
The location was excellent, the beach only a 5 minute walk away and the town centre also 5 minutes with lots of restaurants in easy walking distance, yet the accommodation was in a nice quiet street.
Excellent location for our trip to Ayr racing. Minutes from racecourse and city centre. 3 male adults but plenty space. 3 bedrooms and very spacious. Kitchen, garden, living room, parking etc
Lovely room, hotel quite, staff nice, the hotel is in the center of town but so near the beach. Transport on hand.Food and coffèe amazing. This is my go to place when in ayr.
It was super clean and comfortable. The owners were so accommodating and friendly. By far the best breakfasts we’ve had throughout our many trips to Scotland!!!
