If you are looking for a quite, basic and slightly secluded place to charge up your batteries and explore Bornholm pick this place. The accomodation is the essentials, which i prefer, its clean, very well kept and tidy. I think a better place is hard to come by. I will for sure be back.

Lovely seaside town on the island of Bornholm.
Lovely seaside town on the island of Bornholm. It can take a while to get there from Rønne via local bus but it’s definitely the best base with good connections to explore the rest of the island. Recommend for a relaxing holiday away from city hussles.

We took advantage of the good days to sightsee.
We took advantage of the good days to sightsee. Rode bikes to Orstelars Kirke, Christianso is beautiful on a sunny day. Hummerhus you can explore on a rainy day because they have a facility/ museum adjacent to the fortress. The museums were insightful and offered wonderful history and cultural facts about Gudhjem and the island of Bornholm. I chose not to drive on this trip and the bus system was very easy to use. But, if you chose to drive it’s an easy island to get around.

Peaceful and quiet right outside Gudhjem. Sheep, chickens and beautiful rosegarden on the property. Beautiful view of the coastline and the sea from the bedroom window in apt # 2. Apartment # 2 has two bedrooms upstairs accessed with a fairly steep staircase and a sleeper sofa downstairs. The bathroom is also downstairs so if you are elderly or slightly disabled the stairs could be a challenge.

The apartment was clean, spacious, nicely decorated and had a beautiful view of the fields and ocean. The kids loved the playground and space to run around and explore on the property. The location was ideal, just a few minutes from town and beaches, but away from a lot of tourist traffic and peaceful and quiet. The hosts Lene and David were kind and helpful and made us feel very welcome. In all of our travels over the years, this was one of our favorites.

There was an indoor swimming pool which we enjoy during our stay. In town hotel! staff was really kind. There was also access to a "game" old-furnished room with pool, foosball table, and lots of books to read. really like the building construction of the hotel kind of old-hotel place with an outdoor "beer garden" place in the middle.

We were lucky and we've got a property with a (partial) sea view - sweet. There are 2 playgrounds. Probably the best WiFi connection I've ever seen in the hotels or other places where I stayed on my trips. Very easy and convenient to check in and out and to park a car. A kitchenet is tiny but it is equipped with everything you need.

There are not many guests at the hotel even in this summer holiday, so we enjoy very much our holiday in Gudhjem. The hotel's location is perfect. It is near to the port and at the centre of the city. We can reach all the restaurant we want and the busstops.
