There were many things to do and see in Nice. Great weather, nearby restaurants. Close to many other places.. Taxis were quite expensive though to go anywhere, short or far. $45 dollars for 12 minute ride from airport. Highly recommend the restaurant Le Séjour. Délicieux food and Juliette a delight. Loved it some much, we went back twice. Also, had some good food at le Vingt4. Wine bar restaurant combination. Nearby Villefranche Sur Mer beautiful. La Mere Germaine excellent food on the water.

After Covid closure, Nice is in decline.
After Covid closure, Nice is in decline. Many good restaurants have gone and are replaced by pubs with loud music. The overkill of american and british tourists specially in groups have a very negative influence on the atmosphere in the city. To avoid during summer season. Best go in spring or fall. Public transportation is good, take the bus or train direction Menton or Cannes. Plenty to do and visit.

We absolutely loved Nice we visited Eza which was a beautiful village to visit. So worth visiting to weave yr way around the old village and beautiful little shops. We also went to St. Tropez which was also grt to visit on the way we went to a village called Antibes so quaint where we watched the changing of the guards Some grt little shops and eateries. Well worth a visit. We did a private half day tour to Monaco with other scenic stops on the way. We stayed opposite the Mediterranean which had some beautiful eateries down on the beach. Surprisingly you could not hear the airplanes-very well insulated from sound. The staff went out of their way to help us with some luggage storage issues which made a big difference in our multi-faceted trip using this hotel as a base to visit several other countries in addition to the Côte d’Azur. We took the tram to old town Nice, the train to Cannes, and planes to Spain and then to the US- very convenient, especially with airport shuttle.
