Was unsure at first, once settled in, met friendly occupants at the time of stay, Some of them were there for the same reason I was. Very close to the city area and shopping facilities. Was convenient for where I needed to get too. If given a refurbishment, this could be a really great stay in, looking forward to seeing improvements in the near future.

It was ok. I liked that it was fresh out the cereal packets.

Great place to stay.
Not far from our accomadation we had great restaurants. Vietnamese/ Thai/Greek/ Italian and Indian all on one intersection and a German Bavarian 500 mtr walk as well.
The river walk is great and we bicycled the 20km bike track along main beach and the river.

We didn’t stay in Mackay, but chose to stay at the Dolphin Heads Resort about 10kms out of Mackay. A very picturesque beach, there is an amazing old pub on the headland with the most beautiful view. We had dinner at the Resort Restaurant, and a very comfortable, quiet and enjoyable one night stay at the Resort. Well priced and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We will indeed stay there again and recommend this place to all.

We didn't plan to stay at Mackay, it was the final stop of our road trip and that's where the airport was. Airport only 10 minutes' drive from centre of Mackay, where we stayed in a motel. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The Lagoon area is lovely and very quiet on a weekday when we were there. We walked the Lagoon trail which was pleasant but much longer than anticipated as not very clear signing after you had reached the bridge over the Pioneer River. We should have just taken Sydney Rd back to town but ended up along the river and at the ocean at Iluka Park. Then another 2km into town. Great shopping centre in middle of town. We visited Cape Hillsborough and stayed three nights as it was so awesome. Trails to walk, great beach, wildlife. We saw a goanna, lots of birds, smaller skinks and of course the kangaroos at dawn. Visited Sarina Sugar Shed, which was very interesting after passing all the cane fields.

On checking in, we were given a room on level 1, with no view. The street noise was almost unbearable. We requested a change and the staff kindly moved us to a river facing room. The view was lovely, but to be honest this accommodation is sold as river frontage. It is in actual fact a block away from the River with large buildings obscuring the view. The location is perfectly central though with great accessibility to shopping. We recommend that upon booking your accommodation, to ensure what type of room you will be placed into.

I did visit a beach don't know it's name.
I did visit a beach don't know it's name. Very clean and appealing lots of trees and some birds. It was low tide and sand which I walked out on right out into the ocean. The place was busy for a city but you can get around reasonably easy. Been here before. Marina great to see. Biotanic gardens worth seeing. City centre nice to walk around. Worth coming here for a look.

Beautiful city it would be a must to have a car to get around as it very spread out or be comfortable on public transport however then you would miss out on some great beaches or lookouts a car is highly recommended.
Wayne & Anne are great hosts...helpful, warm & friendly...& the housekeepers were lovely to deal with. The property is kept exceptionally clean & tidy & our room was perfect for our stay.
Great little pool tucked away to the side, & a private gazebo area for the smokers.
Central to everything & everywhere, whilst sitting just on the edge of the city.
Deceiving @ first, but definitely a little gem
Will be staying again when we're back in Mackay.
Our stay for two nights was so comfortable. Lisa was so helpful and even upgraded our room (at no extra cost). The bed was so lovely and the little touches, such as the two tooth brushes, bottled water and a razor was more than expected. Our large car fitted so perfectly right outside our room with ample space to open the car doors. I will definitely be booking in here, when I next visit Mackay.
We asked for a later check-out, it was no problem at all, without a charge..Undercover carparking. Great little deck with a view..The tea/coffee/sugar and milk very generous. We didn't realise it was self contained that was a good surprise. Sound proof, couldn't hear any outside noise. The bed was very comfy. We will be staying there on our trips to Mackay.
Great location on the river , we had our own car as we drove down from Airlie Beach to go to the Mackay turf club race day , hotel right in centre of town easy walk everywhere, friendly staff, clean rooms , comfy bed, nice pool for a dip , has bbq area, laundry n dryer facilities, bonus pick your own breakfast was a lovely surprise , will come again
Great location with clean room and comfy bed with great views. We stayed at their hotel room, meanwhile our friends with kids were staying at their 2 Bedroom Apartment and they are very happy with it. It is nice, clean and spacious again great view from their apartment too. Wish we could stay longer.
Room was clean, modern, fantastic location. We have recently stayed at 2 other motels in Mackay and this will very likely be our go to place to stay. The interconnecting family room we had for our family was the perfect option allowing us to put kids in their own space and we were able to watch tv.
Clean, large room in a good location close to Mackay City. Ideal for a few days stay. Handy to have a washing machine in the room. Large bathroom and comfy beds. Meals available at the pub next door. Even though was busy it was not noisy.
Great central location, close to shopping center. Close to CBD, Restaurants and Pubs. Very friendly staff. The room was clean and modern. BBQ and sitting area kept clean and tidy. Great place to stay and value for money.
Wonderful park, great amenities and location. We stay here whenever we’re in Mackay and love it. Fantastic staff were super accommodating to my booking mistake and gave us another night in a better suite. Brilliant.
I travel a lot for work and this was one of the nicest motels I’ve stayed in over the years. Clean, tidy and modern. Staff were friendly and you can charge back your meals to the hotel from a couple of venues.
Loved the service. The staff were friendly and bent over backwards to help. Absolutely recommend the hotel to everyone wanting a cheap no fuss, no frills room with comfortable bed, and hot shower.
